Redevelopment of NGO Site Facilitation Scheme
To assist non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to optimise their under-utilised sites, the Chief Executive announced in the 2019 Policy Address (PA) that the Government will facilitate the redevelopment of the low-rise buildings on these sites by providing support and introducing mixed residential, education and welfare uses. This will not only provide modernised facilities, but also increase the supply of various housing, including elderly housing, youth hostels or transitional housing, etc. (c.f. para. 28 of 2019 PA). To this end, the Development Bureau (DEVB) has invited the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to provide support for worthy projects under a facilitation scheme (the Scheme).
